The Viewing 01

Type 0-24-DK

2026
Slumped glass, photogram, plaster, steel

My memory is murky. I’m in and out of consciousness. My mind is foggy. I'm losing track of the time of day, day of the week.

I feel the pain. Then momentary relief. Then back to sleep. In the precious waking moments, I store the memories. However fragmented and out of sequence.

Fractured. Incomplete. Scarred.

I get curious about what I lost. Loss of memory. Loss of healthy body. Loss of safety. Loss of love.

The Viewing 01 is the first of a collection of artifacts and portraits. The glass artifacts are my memories. Slumped in the kiln with only gravity and heat. The portraits help me see what I couldn’t see. Exposing hidden fractures, scars, and bubbles.

Broom Sculpture: From Racine

Type 0-24-DK

2025
Found driftwood with bug trails, hand-carved trails, ash, grass and plant fibers, string

Broom Sculpture: From Racine is my first site-specific broom sculpture and the first sculpture I performed with. At a residency in Racine, I found a long piece of driftwood with bug trails carved into it. I carved my own trails, leaving my mark, embedded them with ash, and harvested grass and plant fibers to make the broom. It was summer. In the fall, I returned to the site to remake the broom using fall fibers.

Racine is located in the Eastern Townships of Québec, a place of personal significance that I visit annually.

Portal

Type 0-24-DK

2024
Broomcorn, tarred nylon

Portal is about a wish for my sister and me to be in the same place. It represents a bond between us despite our physical distance. Using traditional broom making techniques, these sculptural pieces extend toward one another across space, without physically touching, embodying our connection.

Artifact Light

Type 0-24-DK

2023
Sand cast glass, bronze, LED lights

A highly personal piece, the Artifact Light is a sand cast, hand-poured, sculptural light. This process of intuitively working with glass as a material paralleled my recovery from a life-altering medical event. The air bubbles, lumps, and stretch marks in the glass were deliberately preserved to tell my story of strength amidst struggle. Even through harsh conditions and weathering of time, there is always something beautiful to be excavated.

Droop

Type 0-24-DK

2021 - 2022
Slumped black sheet glass

Black glass pieces are kiln slumped using only gravity as the guiding force. This sculpture series is a result of my practice of letting go of control. Each Droop piece serves to highlight a corner, an often overlooked space.
